13 Reasons Why Season 3 Review: 7 Ups & 5 Downs
3. Jessica's Justice
Following Hannah's death, her former best friend Jessica Davis slotted into the show's leading lady position and, given that she had underwent a similarly harrowing experience at the hands of Bryce Walker, this was a move that made sense.
However, Jessica's attempts to take Bryce down were never just about what he did to her. In fact, they weren't just about what he did to Hannah. They were about every sexual assault survivor who has felt powerless and/or voiceless in a world that refuses to listen to them.
This season is a vehicle for Jessica, as she attempts to get that justice all over again - but in a completely different way this time. She uses power to give others power and, in doing so, speaks up about the topics that not enough people are willing to talk about. She attempts to use her voice to make a change - and that is a character journey that is absolutely worth seeing.
A character that has always been interesting, Jessica really comes into her own this season and, in many ways, steals the show.
