13 Reasons Why Season 3 Review: 7 Ups & 5 Downs

3. Not Enough Alex

Alex Standall continues to be one of 13 Reasons Why's most interesting characters, and yet he also continues to be one of its most under-appreciated.

While it's true that he, like everyone else, plays quite the part this season (and that he is also troubled by some major demons) his role on an episode-to-episode basis is significantly reduced around halfway through and, following that, he just doesn't feature all that much.

Now, given that Alex is such a rich character, and the fact that his road to recovery (and redemption) ended up being one of the only silver linings in Season 2 (not-to-mention Miles Heizer's always engaging performance) , it's a real shame that the show wasn't able to incorporate him, his struggles and his own story in a more significant way.
