4. Unexplained Absences

13 Reasons Why has always boasted a rather large cast of characters, and while all of them didn't appear on a regular basis, they all usually had a vital part to play in the story. Unfortunately, there are times throughout Season 3 where that doesn't appear to be the case anymore.

While characters who were once of importance to the show, like Courtney, make minor appearances in the premiere episode, other characters like Ryan, Sheri, Marcus and Scott are completely absent - and none of those absences are ever explained.

Given that a lot happens at Liberty High, and that the show loves to utilise flashbacks to retrospectively fill viewers in on previous events, it's jarring that it didn't take the time to offer us an explanation as to where these Liberty High regulars are now.
