13 Reasons Why Season 4: 8 Questions It WILL Answer

Montgomery de la Cruz committed some unspeakable actions throughout his time at Liberty High, and thanks to Tyler Down's brave stand, he finally had to face the consequences. However, from there, things spiraled beyond recognition as the troubled teen was disowned by his dreadful father because of his sexuality and he was subsequently killed in his cell - after which the gang framed him for a murder he didn't commit.

Due to the ambiguity in terms of how his death was revealed (it was thrown in last-minute and took place off-screen), some have speculated that Monty isn't actually dead. Of course that would be something of a stretch considering the sheriff was the one who revealed the information, but it wouldn't be totally outside the realm of believability for 13 Reasons Why to attempt to pull it off.

We know that Timothy Granaderos is reprising his role as a figment of Clay's imagination, but is the real Monty set to make an unexpected comeback? We'll find out when all the speculation is dealt with head-on in the final season.
