13 Reasons Why Season 4 Trailer Review: 4 Ups & 4 Downs

1. More Of The Same

"We have a problem here," Tony Padilla tells Clay Jensen at the opening of the trailer with a worried look on his face. A fed-up Clay looks at him and responds "I think we might have a few problems." And it just makes you want to shout "IKR?!" at the pair of them because even they are so aware of how convoluted and repetitive this narrative has become.

Clay's been here before. Tony's been here before. Heck, we've all been here before - watching these characters go through the same motions on repeat as they attempt to prevent or reveal some dark secrets of days-gone-by.

The reason that the third season worked was because it took a different slant on things: Clay wasn't running from something, he was running towards it. This season, however, just looks like it's going to offer up the same rigmarole for characters who so desperately want to move on.

Here's hoping the show has more to offer.
