Another joint venture from HBO and Bad Robot, this one sees Jordan Peele returning to TV after the smash success of horror movie Get Out.

Based on the 2016 book by Matt Ruff, the series will be overseen by Underground's Misha Green, and will be a horror anthology that aims to reclaim genre storytelling from an African-American perspective.

The book focuses on 25-year-old Atticus Black, who embarks on a road-trip across Jim Crow's America to find his missing father, and battles both the very human racist terrors of the time along with more malevolent spirits inspired by the works of Lovecraft himself.

The book was praised for its blending of racial issues and horror elements, something Get Out did brilliantly, and it's an exciting, timely premise for a TV show, and horror is an interesting avenue to see HBO going down.
