Christmas is such a joyous time for everyone, except for those living in the world of American Horror Story. Santa Claus, who is practically the global symbol for hope and cheer is given a make under and is presented as a figure who spreads darkness and death. Killing a man dressed as Santa who was collecting money for charity, Leigh Emerson steals his suit and goes of a killing spree. He kills a total of eighteen people from five different families. Ironically, he killed one family by tying them up in their Christmas tree lights before shooting them in the head. Hearing news like this is bad enough during the year, but there's something much darker when events like these occur around the holiday period. Especially by someone dressed as Saint Nick. Viewers of the show are probably desensitised to the murders that happen on the show but Emerson takes everything one step further and attempts to rape a nun. Rape and sexual violence is a taboo subject as it is, but for it to almost be performed on a nun is even more shocking.
