14 Historical Inaccuracies In The West Wing You Totally Missed

12. Andrew Jackson's Censure - Leo Gives President Bartlet The Wrong Date For The Expunging Of The Senate Censure

President Bartlet Rain West Wing Gif When Chief-of-Staff Leo McGarry is offered the opportunity to forego a Congressional Oversight Committee investigation in return for President Josiah Bartlet being censured for failing to disclose his multiple-sclerosis to the public in "H Con-172" (Season 3, Episode 11), he is angered by such a suggestion. Discussing the idea with Bartlet later on, once the President decides this is the correct way to move forward, Leo says President Andrew Jackson's 1834 censure by the US Senate was expunged in 1836, when it was not in fact until January 1837. Although this is a minor detail, it is still factually incorrect nonetheless.
