14 Historical Inaccuracies In The West Wing You Totally Missed

13. Murder, Inc - Toby's Father Is Shown Working For The Organisation In The 1950s Even Though It Ceases To Exist In The 1940s

"Holy Night" (Season 4, Episode 11) focuses on Toby's relationship with his father, Jules Ziegler, who was an immigrant brought up in a Yiddish-speaking family in New York City. At the very beginning of the episode, Jules Ziegler is shown back in December 1954 working for Murder Incorporated ("Murder, Inc") - the Jewish mafia's enforcement arm who were responsible for somewhere between 400 and 1,000 contract killings. The problems with this assignment in 1954, when a man is assassinated, is that Murder, Inc ceased to exist from the mid-1940s onwards - so Jules Ziegler couldn't have worked for them past this time.
