Acquiring someone as famed as Paul McCartney for a ten second joke might seem like too much logistical work, but considering the context in which famed Beatle Sir Paul McCartney jumps out of a cake shouting “Surprise!” only to find no one around is a great punchline to end even the most emotional episode of the show.
If you just Google the logistical process the developers went through in order to get time with the legendary musician, you would understand why Paul McCartney deserves the top spot of this list.
A curious and possibly deliberate move to make was, of all the animal puns linked to other actors and musicians in the Bojack universe, Paul McCartney wasn’t animated or drawn like a Beetle.
We can only assume the creators wanted to showcase that it was the actual Paul, and would never stoop so low as the easy physical joke.
Either way, it was a great gag for the episode to end on
