15 Best Animated Shows Since The Simpsons

4. Family Guy

Gravity Falls
Fox

Since its debut in 1999, Family Guy has remained one of the funniest animated TV shows in existence. Spanning eighteen seasons and three-hundred and thirty-nine episodes, Family Guy's delicious blend of parody, dark humour, and family satire secures its place as simply one of the best.

The series follows the Griffin family, consisting of Peter, Lois, Meg, Chris, Stewie, and their anthropomorphic dog, Brian.

It has inspired lots of merchandise, a series of comics, several video-games, a book, and a feature film confirmed by creator Seth MacFarlane to be currently in development.

Despite the occasional controversy over some over-the-top humour, Family Guy has been praised by critics and has an enormous fan-base across the globe.

With a style fairly similar to that of The Simpsons, it's no wonder that Family Guy has become a worldwide phenomenon, as the genre of satirical animated comedy has already been popularised by the former. The similarities have even inspired a crossover episode between the two shows: Family Guy Season Thirteen, Episode One, "The Simpsons Guy".
