15 Best Animated TV Moments Of 2018
6. Disenchantment - Dagmar’s Poison
Disenchantment had a slightly rocky first season, but then so did Parks & Recreation before it went on to become one of the greatest sitcoms of the 21st Century. It was under pressure from the start, needing to follow Groening’s other TV behemoths The Simpsons & Futurama. However, it handled itself admirably, and looks set to avoid becoming Groening’s version of The Cleveland Show.
The show is much more story driven than most animated programming. There were some great moments, like Big Joe’s exorcism attempt, exploring the lost city of Cremmorah or Bean’s wedding day. However, the whole saga was built around Dagmar’s poison, and it simply has to come out on top.
King Zog arguably developed the most across the season, going from a surly, unpleasant man to a king whose only wish is to have his queen back. He’s awful to everyone around him, but when we find out his wife only died because she was trying to kill him, it’s hard to take.
When Season 2 returns, Bean will need to choose a side. All she’s ever wanted is a mother, but how will she react now that her mother has encased Dreamland in stone?
