While the fish-out-of-water concept has been done to death, it works here thanks to Lucius' hilarious misunderstandings of the modern world - like thinking a self-raising toilet is controlled by a hidden slave. Plus, Rome itself is styled wonderfully, with rich architecture and a dripping sense of personality.

Each chapter is a simple exploration of a problem in Rome and a solution in Japan. Still, it never gets old, thanks to the lead character's hilarity and the concept's absurdity. You'll get surprisingly invested every time and fall to the floor in fits of laughter on more than one occasion.
