15 Best Futurama Episodes
3. Jurassic Bark (Season 4, Episode 7)
Perhaps the single most emotionally devastating sitcom episode of all time, Jurassic Bark is, for the most part, a sweet exploration of friendship and memory that takes a serious left turn at the final hour and has been traumatising fans ever since.
After finding the fossilised remains of his old dog, Seymour, Fry works to bring him back to life whilst remembering their time together back in the 20th century.
The whole story steadily builds until it becomes clear that Fry's going to get his best friend back (which, in a funnier subplot, makes Bender jealous), but then Fry learns that Seymour lived another dozen years after he was frozen, and decides to let him go.
The final montage makes for one of the show's most harrowing scenes, and the entire episode just goes to show how daring and surprising a series Futurama can be at its finest.
