13. Game Of Tones (Season 7, Episode 23)
Whilst The Luck of the Fryrish is all about Fry's brother, Game of Tones allows the character to find some closure regarding his poor relationship with his mother.
In typical Futurama-esque fashion, Fry seems to be the only person capable of saving the world, and is sent back to the 31st December, 1999 - the exact day he was frozen - to uncover the mystery behind an elusive alien melody.
Whilst this particular story makes for the usual Futurama wackiness fans had grown accustomed to, the best part of the episode comes when Fry is given a chance to see his loved ones again - particularly his parents and his dog.
Fry inevitably saves the world, but along the way he gets some much-needed one-on-one time with his emotionally distant mother, proving that even in its final days Futurama still knew how to surprise its audiences.
