Thanks to some popcorn and an exploding star, season four's Roswell That Ends Well finds most of the Planet Express crew travelling back to Roswell, New Mexico, in 1947.

There, Zoidberg is captured by the army (and forced to eat lots of food, much to his joy), Bender is mistaken for a spaceship, Leela and the Professor try desperately to find a way home, and Fry accidentally kills his grandfather and sleeps with his grandmother, ensuring he'll still exist in the future.

A relentlessly silly spoof sci-fi time travel tropes and a classic example of just how destructive Fry can be when at his most care-free and impressionable, Roswell That Ends Well is both one of the show's all-time funniest episodes, and a poignant reminder of just how innovative the series can be at its best.
