10. Brannigan, Begin Again (Season 2, Episode 2)
Of all the supporting characters outside the Planet Express crew, Zapp Brannigan is easily the best.
Sexist, inept, careless, cruel, manipulative and seemingly ignorant to his flaws, he's deemed a war hero and great military leader throughout the show, despite being absolutely awful at everything he does.
In the season two gem Brannigan, Begin Again, Zapp's admittedly hilarious ineptitude goes too far, and he (along with long-suffering right-hand Kif) is left unemployed, only to secure a job working for Leela.
What follows is an increasingly funny comedy of errors, as Brannigan makes Fry and Bender mutiny against Leela and the whole crew find themselves in a life-threatening situation.
Brannigan, Begin Again is deliriously funny, Brannigan's finest hour, and a testament to the voice work of Billy West that the deplorable space captain can come across as such a hideous but hilarious character.
