The Pineapple Incident is arguably Ted's funniest episode, and is certainly one of his most relatable. We've all had a night out that's ended with a blocked memory or mysterious mementos, and this episode captures that idea beautifully.

Sick of hearing Ted talk about Robin, Barney dares him to drink five strong shots and let himself go. Pushed to do it by his friends, his downs the drinks and blacks out, spending the entirety of the next morning trying to figure out what happened. For starters, there's a woman in his bed, and a pineapple on his bedside table, and he's sprained his ankle.

Using accounts from Barney and bar owner Carl (Joe Nieves), Ted slowly begins to piece together his messy night, leading to some hilarious revelations. Whilst No Tomorrow sees Ted at his most unlikeable, The Pineapple Incident shows him at his most silly and endearing, and gives Josh Radnor the chance to show audiences just how funny he can be in the role.
