11. Bob Belcher - Bob’s Burgers
Bob’s Burgers was initially paired with The Simpsons and Family Guy in Animation Domination to help it find an audience, but fast forward to today, and things are quite a bit different. The Belchers are the only one of the families who can be regularly relied upon for quality, even if the other two remain bigger names.
Bob Belcher doesn’t have the household fame of Homer Simpson or Peter Griffin, but he’s a wonderfully original character worthy of the animation hall of fame. Unlike most family animation (and most family sitcoms in general), Bob isn’t a boorish clod whose crazy scrapes get the whole family in trouble each week.
The family rarely fights, in fact, and is instead a very wholesome unit. Louise Belcher could easily be here instead, while Linda, Tina and Gene are no slouches either. The whole family just works so well together, spinning in the opposite direction to constantly feuding families in other TV shows.
Bob’s just a nice, hard working guy who loves what he does and helps his family just about her by. He’s relatable, sympathetic and kind while still being hilarious, and goes into the 2020s as one of the best animated characters on TV.
