Ever since Robbie Amell impressed with a hilarious performance as a hip, friendly sociopathic murderer in 2017's underrated horror comedy The Babysitter, comedy fans knew the up-and-coming actor was set for great things.
Upload has proven this prediction true, as The Duff’s scene-stealing love interest carries this fun sci-fi sitcom from The Office co-creator Greg Daniels.
Following a young man who dies prematurely in the near future and has his consciousness uploaded to a digital "heaven", only to discover that the afterlife isn't all it's cracked up to be, Upload emerges from The Good Place's shadow to offer its own sci fi spin on the "what happens when we die" question.
It's one which appears to plague former writers of The Office.
As Amell's character falls out of love with his girlfriend and warms to a technician facilitating this digital afterlife, the show interrogates big existential questions whilst also staying fun and light throughout.
