15 Best Sci-Fi TV Shows Of The 21st Century
1. The X Files
Yes, okay, so Chris Carter’s iconic sci-fi procedural/ conspiracy thriller/ will they won’t they romance mash-up The X-Files isn’t technically a show of the new millennium in so much as it began in the nineties (and even visited the Simpsons’ hometown back then).

and some of its best instalments aired since 2000, so we’re sticking it on
here.
After all, are there any other shows which can compare to the slow-burn chemistry of Mulder and Scully, not to mention this series’s many ingenious monster of the week threats and its shadowy, always elusive but endlessly addictive central mystery?
Fringe could never. Sorry, Abrams, but this is one sci-fi institution which doesn't need a reboot to remain a timeless great.
