15 Best The Simpsons Songs Ever
6. Who Needs The Kwik-E-Mart
Of all the characters ever to stay with The Simpsons, Apu easily has the best episode. In Homer And Apu, we see him selling spoiled meat, keeping secrets with a smashed hat, and journeying to the world’s first (and not very convenient) convenience store. The crowning moment of this episode though is definitely his musical number, Who Needs The Kwik-E-Mart?
The fact that this gem of a song misses out on the top five is evidence of how many great hits there are in the Simpsons songbook. Apu, struggling without the purpose of his old job, pitches in around 742 Evergreen Terrace, resulting in him singing about how he doesn’t need the Kwik-E-Mart anymore.
Much to Homer’s annoyance though, it turned out he lied to them through song. Apu actually misses the Kwik-E-Mart dearly, and by the end of the episode manages to earn his way back. Not before a great song that involves the whole family though.
It’s this involvement of the rest of the Simpsons that really elevates the song. Especially Homer chiming in and completely ruining the song’s rhyme and flow. Special mention to Apu stealing Grampa’s cane too.
