Appeared in: Season 1, Episode 17 - Eternity (first full appearance on Angel, albeit temporary) The One with the Angelic Face. Angelus was Angel before he became Angel, the champion, the vampire with a soul. As Angelus, he cut a swatch across Europe leaving death in his wake. He tortured, murdered, raped, and generally tried to raise hell (and occasionally end the world). What's creepy about Angelus, given he became Angel? He's the good guy, right? Well, except that a moment of pure happiness could cause him to lose his soul and revert back to evil (something which happened on Buffy the Vampire Slayer). And occasionally drugs could do it. So great, the hero might turn on you and kill you at any minute. You've got to admit, that's a little creepy.
