15 Dead Game Of Thrones Characters (That Are Still Alive In The Books)

10. Pyat Pree

Game Of Thrones Stannis Baratheon
HBO

Another primary player in the Qarth storyline, both on the page and on the screen, is Pyat Pree, the only named warlock from the House of the Undying. In both mediums, he attempts to get his hands of Daenarys' dragons, attempting to trick her with his magical abilities in the books and teaming with Xaro Xhoan Daxos to take the three beasts by force in the series.

This saw him burned alive by Drogon, a fate that was instead reserved for a number of his nameless warlock companions in the books, where Pyat was spared. He hasn't been seen since the events of A Clash Of Kings, but it is mentioned in A Dance With Dragons that four warlocks were captured by the reaving Euron Greyjoy to school him in the art of magic.

Presumably, one of these is Pyat and he is present with Euron in the Iron Islands, where he has taken the throne following the convenient death of his brother Balon.

Euron Greyjoy has not been introduced to the series yet (he'll debut in season six), but if he does come complete with a magically-imbued entourage as part of his all-conquering scheme, new characters will have to be created to account for Pyat's premature departure.
