One of the longest-living cast members in Doctor Who history, Earl Cameron was born in 1917, and lived for over 100 years before dying peacefully over the summer.

His sole appearance in Doctor Who came way back in 1966, where he played astronaut Glyn Williams in the First Doctor serial The Tenth Planet.

Outside the Whoniverse, Christopher Nolan fans might recognise Cameron from his small yet memorable role in 2010's Inception, which saw him share the screen with Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hardy in a dinghy Mombasa basement.

Cameron passed away on 3 July, aged 102.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
