13. The Doctor's Daughter (2008)
Only the Doctor could single-handedly conceive a child using his own DNA and then hold her dying corpse in his arms in the space of one short episode. Such was the case in Series 4 when Jenny's new life with her father was over before it had truly begun. Her death scene was as emotional as they come but it was made all the more gut-wrenching because she came back to life shortly afterwards and the Doctor has no bloody idea. Now that's just plain cruel.
