15 Fascinating IMDb Statistics About Your Favourite TV Shows
1. Season 5 Has The Best And Worst Of Game Of Thrones
Season 5 is the worst of Game of Thrones, with so much time spent in a Dornish plot that is terribly translated from the book, and it being a transitional year for many: Tyrion is stuck travelling to Daenerys for the most part, Arya's Braavos storyline is frustrating, Tywin was dead, Bran was in a tree and so on.
It brings with it, then, the worst episode of Game of Thrones by IMDb's ratings, with Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken pulling in 8.1. Yes, the lowest-rated episode of the entire show is still a very impressive 8.1, but it does deserve criticism for the Sansa rape storyline and the scenes with the Sand Snakes.
Conversely, though, Season 5 also brings with it the joint best episode of the entire run, and it comes just two episodes later in the eighth instalment, Hardhome, which pulls in 9.9.
Going on season averages, Season 5 is also the only one to drop under 9, with a total of 8.89. Season 4 is, unsurprisingly, the best with 9.33, but then the second best is the more heavily criticised Season 7 with 9.22, followed by Season 6 with 9.11, despite both coming when the show was past the books.
