2. Kai Anderson
Of all the different stories and seasons within American Horror Story, Cult is quite possibly the scariest. Despite being much more grounded, without ghosts, witches, or vampires, the fear factor for season seven comes from how real it seems. While watching it you can't help but think this could really happen, and one of the most terrifying aspects of it all is Kai Anderson.
Kai isn't immortal like many of the American Horror Story villains, nor is he imbued with supernatural powers. Instead, he adapts to the situation around him, and manipulates his way to positions of power using only his brain and his words.
He is so self-sure of everything he is doing, and so charismatic, it is far too easy for people like Harrison and Ivy to fall in line and follow him to the ends of the earth. Even once inside prison he manages to build a brand new following from the ground up.
Kai Anderson, one of the most dangerous characters in all of American Horror Story, managed to work his way to a position of power, and could have gone even further if not for Beverly turning against him, shooting him in the head.
