15 Greatest BoJack Horseman Episodes Of All Time
4. That's Too Much, Man! (Season 3, Episode 11)
It's impossible to overstate just how important an episode That's Too Much, Man! is to the overall trajectory of the show. This is, as it stands, the worst thing BoJack has ever done. For months, Sarah Lynn had been sober, free from addiction and on the right track. But after his big fallout with Todd, BoJack decides to go on a bender, and takes Sarah Lynn along for the ride.
This episode has all that the show is associated with, from the trippy, non-linear narrative, the moments of heart, the striking animation and the ridiculous comedy (most of it very dark). BoJack and Sarah Lynn get high, vandalise property and make a mess of things as BoJack works to atone for his mistakes.
In the end, the pair sit at the planetarium, looking at the stars and talking about life. Sarah Lynn says she wants to be an architect, proclaiming what she wants from life, then dies as BoJack gives a speech about everything working out. Sarah Lynn was always BoJack's biggest mistake, a girl he betrayed, failed to protect and broke, and hearing him realise she's died, because of his actions, makes for the show's most harrowing final reveal.
