In case fans had been thinking that 21st century Doctor Who wasn't too good at cliffhangers, there was this whopper of a shocker from 2011's The Almost People to prove otherwise. After solving a conflict between humans and rebelling clones called the Flesh, the Doctor reveals that Amy herself is a Flesh avatar. It turns out that the real Amy has been kidnapped a long time ago and is now in an alien facility... moments from giving birth. Oops. In retrospect, there had been several hints that something was amiss with Amy throughout previous episodes. Amy's visions of a mysterious lady in an eyepatch, the fact that she couldn't be sure if she was pregnant and some eagle-eyed viewers even spotted that Amy had been wearing the same clothes all series - but no one would have suspected the truth to be this. Just one of these revelations would have been shocking enough, but thanks to this momentous moment we got two great cliffhangers for the price of one. Bargain!
