15 Mind-Blowing Facts About Prison Break

5. D.B. Cooper Was A True Story

For much of the first season, there's a sense of intrigue about Charles Westmoreland, a veteran prisoner at Fox River. There's strong rumours that his is indeed the infamous D.B. Cooper, though he never confirmed it until right before he died during the Season 1 escape, showing Michael a $100 note with a serial code matching that of the Cooper money and claiming he had $5 million rather than $1 million, before detailing where it would be found. The real story of D.B. Cooper's crime was that he showed a bomb to an air hostess in order to hijack a flight, ordered the pilots to land where he released all of the passengers, demanded food for the crew and $200k, before taking off and jumping out somewhere north of Portland with the money. He was never seen again. Vanished.
