15 Most Annoying Mistakes You Never Noticed In The Walking Dead

11. Merle’s Reappearing Hand

Episode: Walk With Me (S3, E3)

Prior to Merle’s comeback in Season 3, the last we saw of him (barring Daryl’s hallucination in Chupacabra) was a severed hand in Season 1, left behind after hacksawing it off himself to escape the Atlanta rooftop Rick and Co had left him handcuffed to.

Then he reappeared in Walk With Me sporting a fancy new prosthetic arm-cum-bayonet so chic and functional it’d make Freddy Krueger jealous. But there’s a problem with prosthetic limbs and the like, especially if the actor wearing them isn’t actually an amputee: a later scene in the episode shows in which Merle takes off his bayonet arm and actor Michael Rooker’s balled up fist is momentarily visible.

It’s only a small mistake but it proves the impracticalities of prop prosthetics – probably a reason why TV Rick Grimes has yet to have his hand chopped off like in the comics.
