15 Most Disturbing Black Mirror Moments

5. Metalhead Has Friends

Black Mirror Season 4 Andrea Riseborough
Netflix

In the episode Metalhead, Black Mirror did a chase movie, and they did it brilliantly. The sound, the cinematography, and the concept were all fantastic, making this one of the most underrated episodes in the show's tenure.

The instalment sees Bella marked for termination by an autonomous four-legged robot nightmare creature in a dystopian future. It is armed to the teeth, it has no concept of relenting, and it's damn near impossible to kill. It is nasty in every respect, and viewers don't even get the luxury of knowing who made it or why it even exists.

After a magnificently suspenseful pursuit, Bella does finally get the upper hand and kill the miniature beast. The reward for her efforts is to have her face blasted with irremovable distresses beacons which make a call-out to, you guessed it, more robots of identical design. Exhausted and depleted of all resource, Bella is left with no hopeful outcome, and we're left to only imagine where it goes form there.

This was the only legitimately post-apocalyptic episode Black Mirror has ever done - and within it, humanity had pretty much zero chance of any hope of survival.

You finally kill the monster, and there's 10 more waiting around the corner.
