15 Most Exciting New TV Shows You Need To Watch This Fall

13. Law & Order True Crime: The Menendez Murders (NBC)

What Is It

A true crime drama, based around the infamous Menendez Murders from 1989 and the subsequent 1994 trial. The case saw two brothers murder their parents with a shotgun, but the trial revealed the sexual and psychological abuse they suffered at their parents' hands.

Reasons To Be Excited

True crime dramas have been on the rise recently, most notably with the multi-award winning - and brilliant - The People v. O.J. Simpson. That's a very high-bar for this to reach, and it won't necessarily do it, but it is a grisly, fascinating story that should make for ripe dramatisation.

The story has been parodied and satirised before, in The Cable Guy and Natural Born Killers, but this looks like a proper re-telling (if probably sensationalised one) of the story. If the story isn't enough, it does have the great Edie Falco (The Sopranos) in the lead role.
