15 Most Visually Stunning Sci-Fi TV Shows
6. Star Trek: Deep Space Nine
Now we come to the widest and most sprawling science fiction property, at least in terms of renditions released. Star Trek has been on countless ventures across its long history from the original series all the way through to the modern movie productions from J.J Abrams and Justin Lin.
It was always a pioneer of the genre and expanded exponentially with various creative efforts. For this list though, we went with Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, which follows the Cardassian space station Terok Nor. Falling in line with other contemporaries and coming before the onset of modern CGI, Deep Space continued the franchise's pedigree for solid effects.
Paramount Studios were able to craft some great looking space battles for the time as the series ran through most of the nineties and racked up a massive 176 episodes across its runtime.
While it would eventually be supplanted by newer releases, Deep Space Nine has proven so popular that fans have created several projects in a bid to remaster the series in full 1080p HD. The effects of the time were produced at a lower resolution which has compelled some folks to take things a step further, remaking and re-incorporating the effects with modern technology.
