We know that this is probably controversial, but we feel we had to place this one at the top of the list. Gemma Teller-Morrow, whatever her many faults and whatever horrendous crimes shed committed or conspired to have committed, was and still is the beating heart of the Sons Of Anarchy both the fictional biker gang and the television show about them. Both her husbands were instrumental in forming the club, and her son, vice-president at the beginning of season two, would later take the gavel to become president of the MC himself. Moreover, Katey Sagal is absolutely the best and most defining actor on the show, perfectly portraying a multi-faceted, difficult woman, by turns violent, tender, amoral, righteous, selfish and maternal. Even by the opening episode of season two, Albification, shed established her character as a vital part of the show, the mother-figure of the main cast. When the Aryan Brothers abduct, beat and brutally sexually assault her to send a visceral message to the Sons Of Anarchy a message, by the way, that the proud Gemma chooses not to deliver its the most difficult scene to watch that the show has ever delivered to its long-suffering audience. From this moment on, the show is on another level of ruthlessness. From this moment on, we know that anything can happen to anyone and over the course of the next five or so years, we havent been disappointed. Do you agree with our top 15?
