15 Nastiest Ever Moments In Sons Of Anarchy

2. Opie's Got This

The hardest death for Sons Of Anarchy fans to bear came only two episodes later, season five hitting a high water mark for brutality right from the beginning. Fan favourite Opie Winston, Jackson€™s best friend since childhood, had been on a slippery downhill trajectory since the murder of his wife towards the end of season one. You could easily be forgiven for thinking that he was losing it by the end€ he certainly could. When he, Jackson and two other Sons are imprisoned on Damon Pope€™s orders, Pope demands the life of one of Teller€™s boys in order for the freedom of the rest. Torn, the club president decides it has to be him €“ but his best friend, feeling he nothing left to live for himself, takes the decision away from him, telling Jax: €œI got this.€ The ensuing prison fight between Opie and four armed convicts is brutal and one-sided, and we know how it has to end. A steel pipe to the back of the head takes Opie out of prison, out of the MC and out of our lives for good, leaving Jackson hellbent on revenge. As an aside, the ghost of Opie has to be haunting Tig. The man killed his wife by accident and then caused him to be killed, again by accident. Trager is seriously bad luck for the Winston family.
