15 Small Details You Only Notice Rewatching Stranger Things

7. The Boy Who Came Back To Life Gets A Rewrite

Stranger Things
Netflix

The story of the boy who came back to life swept Hawkins between Stranger Things Seasons 1 and 2 like an edge-of-seat tale of supernatural origin - unbeknownst to the townsfolk that's exactly what it was. However, the infamous newspaper article written by Benjamin Buck that revealed Will Byers' strange resurrection mysteriously evolves during that period of time.

The article is pinned to the notice board of the Hawkins Police Department at the conclusion of the first season, but when it resurfaces in the second - after Will finds the clipping in his locker with the words 'Zombie Boy' written across it - the body of text is completely different.

The first notes that Joyce believes he was subject to mind control experimentations by Hawkins National Lab while the second tells a more grounded (and fictional) version of events in which Will was apparently discovered by Hop in a cave outside of Hawkins.

Spooky or what...?
