15 Star Trek Deaths That Didn't Last

Y'cannae change the laws of physics but you can change the laws of biology if you're a sentient space probe.

When Nomad wipes Uhura's mind (which will be 100% recovered by the following episode), Scotty tries to intervene and finds himself dead on the bridge of the Enterprise. Curtains, finito.

Strangely, while recovering Uhura's entire memory, Starfleet career and communications expertise can't be achieved by the sentient space probe, returning the Enterprise's chief engineer to life is just one more job to tick off the "To Do" list. Uhura would be back at her station for the following episode with not a hint of PTSD or ongoing learning help and Scotty would be even more fine seconds after actually dying.

Resurrected quicker than you can say "It's green," Scotty would later be presumed dead for 75 years after the USS Jenolan crashed on the Dyson Sphere. He would later be recovered by the Enterprise-D after cleverly surviving in a transporter buffer. Somehow he seemed to forget that he was present when another Starfleet officer was killed in action with the distinct inclination that Kirk would have come and searched for him. Maybe this was just a bit of a delayed reaction or a bit of memory that didn't quite get saved in the buffer.

A Star Trek fan from birth, I love to dive into every aspect of the franchise in front and behind the screen. There's something here that's kept me interested for the best part of four decades! Now I'm getting back into writing and using Star Trek as my first line of literary attack. If I'm not here on WhatCulture then you're more than welcome to come and take a look at my blog, Some Kind of Star Trek at http://SKoST.co.uk or maybe follow me on Twitter as @TheWarpCore. Sometimes I force myself not to talk about Star Trek.
