15 Star Trek Deaths That Didn't Last
10. Worf - Hide And Q / Ethics
Heading for the record of most returns from death is the franchise's most seen character, Worf, with a trilogy of life-ending scenarios in TNG.
As far back as season one the writers were trying to find ways to kill Worf. While the first time they would resort to using aliens dressed in Napoleonic uniforms as part of a Q game (Note also that Wesley is killed during this scenario).
In season three's Transfigurations Worf is stopped dead by evolving alien John Doe and dies after being on the receiving of an energy blast that breaks his neck. Doctor Crusher confirms there's no pulse but having already demonstrated his growing powers, Doe revives the Klingon in a second. But that's not the last time Worf would end up throwing off the mortal coil.
In the powerfully written Ethics, Worf's career seems to be over after he suffers a crippling back injury leading him to question his place in the galaxy. Vying with what the future might hold, even contemplating suicide, Worf opts for radical spinal transplant surgery. But things only get worse and he dies on the operating table. However, while Spock had his backup eyelids in TOS, Worf maxes out on luck with annotomical redundancies that happens to kick in and reboot the Klingon's body.
