15 Times S**t Got Real In Game Of Thrones

Joffrey was an absolute nightmare for almost everyone in the entire show and certainly for us. After his wanton murder of Eddard Stark there was no foreseeable way things could get any more intimidating. Enter Tywin Lannister.

After being wonderfully put in his place by Tyrion, the boy King scrambled to wipe the egg off of his face. Being admonished by his grandfather and chief underling, the cruel little sadist accused him of cowardice.

What follows is possibly the most chilling look in the entire run of the show. Cersei, who we know to be ferociously maternal and fearless to a fault not only refrains from defending her child but freezes in place as Tywin drains the air out of the room.

Watching Joffrey squirm and shrink under the gaze of a true lion is incredibly satisfying and Cersei scrambling to get her son out of harm's way spoke volumes about the type of force that Lord Tywin truly was.

Few moments in fantasy feel too real, even in Game Of Thrones, but this crosses that line. For all the great warriors and devious politicians, none have quite held this level of command over such a prominent group of characters and never with this ease.

Charles Dance's Tywin Lannister is more intimidating than anybody's Mountain.
