15 TV Shows That Are The Current Best Of Every Genre

Science Fiction television is so broad at this point that it seems fair to break it up into two categories: space and Earth. There is always an assortment of space-bound Sci-Fi shows to choose from with whatever new Star Trek is airing at any given time and more recently The Mandalorian becoming more beloved than any recently released Star Wars film.

Despite its popularity, The Mandalorian hasn't yet reached the bar set by The Expanse. A show set in the near future where humanity has colonised a great deal of space as well as Mars and several factions fight against each other for control.

The Expanse aims to feel as realistic as possible and is enriched by brilliantly drawn and layered characters that populate the various stations and ships around the galaxy. The show is heavy on its political alliances and manages to keep the audience's interest as the political intrigue is one of the best aspects of the show.

As the seasons have gone on, The Expanse has benefitted from a large budget increase (thanks to a move to Amazon) and now the show feels as big and epic as it deserves to be.

With one more season yet to come, there is still time to catch up and see the finale play out as it happens in one of the most engrossing Sci-Fi sagas in years.
