4. What's Up With Christian Shephard?
Christian Shephard is constantly popping up on or around the island and being super mysterious, even though he's clearly dead. How? Is this Christian's ghost? Just a hallucination? The smoke monster can take the form of dead people, so is that what's happening?
The Explanation: In Season 6, it's confirmed that most appearances of Christian throughout the series have actually been the the smoke monster. The monster can take the form of dead people if their body is on the island, and Christian's body was on the plane in a coffin.
But wait. It's also revealed that the monster can't travel over large bodies of water, yet Christian appears on the freighter in the middle of the ocean. How? And the monster can't leave the island, so how does Christian appear to Jack in Los Angeles after he's returned home from the island?
Well, Christian on the freighter wasn't the monster, but his actual his real ghost, there to help Michael accept his death and move on. And the Christian Jack saw in Los Angeles was just a hallucination, after Jack had been working late hours and was starting to go crazy.
