15 Ups & 0 Downs For Star Trek: Prodigy Season 2

11. UP — Novel Holo

To rework one of The Doctor's titles, this is The Time of the Love of Holograms aka How Many Rodrigos? Alongside the hilarious ribbing of his authorial attempts, the galaxy's most famous EMH gets a good deal of love and screentime this season, and we are the better for it. We are treated to a whole sickbay's worth of memorable moments, callbacks, and freshly quotable lines.

"Take 20 milligrams of vengeance" was a "humdinger," and you really must hear his Questa o Quella, and La donna è mobile / Hormones are raging while he's at it. Primarily, however, this season, as the much-improved title of his new holo-novel (see Ouroboros, Part II) would indicate, The Doctor was The Mentor.

We were also treated to the return of another hologram, and "big fan" of The Doctor's work, apparently — Holo-Janeway. Her heroic self-sacrifice at the end of last season was unexpectedly devastating, so to have her back (and backed-up) was a truly touching moment for season two. Now the ECH of the USS Prodigy, we hope to be seeing more of her again. Photons be free!
