2. Supergirl

This centres on Kara Zor-El, aka Supergirl, and cousin of Kal-El, the Man of Steel himself. As Melissa Benoist says in the trailer€™s voiceover, you may know his story, but you don€™t know hers. Well now you€™re about to. After 12 years of living on earth and concealing her powers, Kara is finally ready to use them for the good, and to help protect National City. It€™s a slight surprise this isn€™t on CW alongside Arrow and The Flash (although maybe, with Legends of Tomorrow as well, it€™d would€™ve been too much of a good thing), but executive producers Greg Berlanti and Andrew Kreisberg work on those shows as well, raising the possibility of a multi-network crossover. Judging from the trailer, it already seems to have firmly established the tone it will be going for (it errs closer the The Flash than Arrow), with lots of humour and a much lighter air than most of its DC counterparts, and also some impressive effects work as well. There€™s also the fact that this is a female-led superhero show, something that has been lacking both on TV on in the cinematic universes of DC and Marvel (though both will be rectifying that in a few years), and Benoist - who has appeared in Glee and Whiplash - looks like she€™ll prove to be an excellent choice for the role (even if it seems many sections of the internet vehemently disagree).
