3. The Punchline - BoJack Horseman
Free Churro ranks among the pantheon of great BoJack Horseman episodes, thanks largely to Raphael Bob-Waksberg's stunning eulogy and Will Arnett's delivery of it. For 25-minutes, all we have is the camera focused on BoJack as he bids a farewell - only sometimes fond - to his mother.
It's a vocal performance for the ages from Arnett, who not only runs the full gamut of emotions, but more impressively is able to command the screen for the entire duration. And after the poignant, powerful speech, we get the payoff.
BoJack opens up the casket, does a double-take, looks at the funeral programme, and only then does the camera leave him to show us the crowd, revealing the horrific discovery: he's at the wrong funeral. There's an awful irony to everything BoJack's just said, as he finally laid himself bare, being to the wrong person, and a hint of sadness there too, but it's also jaw-droppingly funny. In other words, it's the kind of ending only BoJack Horseman could pull-off
