19 TV Shows (And 1 Film) Set In The Same Universe As Lost

10. The X Files - The Prequel To Fringe You Never Realised

Not only does Fringe exist in the same universe as Twin Peaks, but it also serves as a sequel of sorts to the 1990's phenomenon that was The X Files. In a senate hearing in the season two opener A New Day in the Old Town, mention is made of the 'X designation' used by the FBI in the 1990s, which examined (and failed to prove) the sort of cases Olivia Bishop was investigating in the current day. Just where passing references ended and actual cases had the potential to cross over, we'll never know. Would Mulder and Scully, or their successor Doggett and Reyes, be involved in Fringe cases if the X Files were still open? Just what happened to the supposed alien invasion of 2012? Was this superseded by the coming of the Observers in Fringe's final season? On a side note, was Twin Peak's transvestite FBI agent Dennis / Denise Bryson and agent Fox Mulder the one and same person? That would be one hell of a back story for 'spooky' Mulder.

I wrote two plays for the Greater Manchester Horror Fringe in 2013, the first an adaption of Simon Clark's 'Swallowing A Dirty Seed' and my own original sci-fi horror play 'Centurion', which had an 8/10* review from Starburst magazine! (http://www.starburstmagazine.com/reviews/eventsupcoming-genre-events/6960-event-review-centurion) I also wrote an episode for online comedy series Supermarket Matters in 2012. I aim to achieve my goal for writing for television (and get my novels published) but in the meantime I'll continue to write about those TV shows I love!
