This David Fincher-produced crime series takes the #1 spot thanks to its fascinating depiction of the beginnings of criminal psychology investigations in the FBI.

Jonathan Groff and Hoyt McCallany make for a highly entertaining pair in this visually stunning, quietly sinister slow-burn, which benefits enormously from Fincher directing four of the show's ten episodes.

Cinematic in the way few TV shows are, focused squarely on the fascinating lives of its central characters and digging deep into the nature of sordid criminality, Mindhunter is the best new crime show in years, and needless to say, the wait for a second season is nothing short of agonising.
