20 Best Deaths In Doctor Who History

12. Death By Fondant (The Happiness Patrol)

Ruled with a rod of sugar-coated iron by glittery dictator Helen A (Sheila Hancock), Terra Alpha was the place where a single frown or grumble could put you on a slab. The Seventh Doctor brought the sadistic administration tumbling down, but not before fans witnessed a somewhat unusual sequence of events, one of them being an execution at the hands of the resident fruitcake The Kandyman. An ageing dissident had a tube lowered over his head which proceeded to flood with raspberry sauce, drowning the poor fellow in what was surely the stickiest demise in TV history. It didn't get much respect from the audience but Graeme Curry's eccentric tale certainly made the history books for sheer incredulity.
