20 Best Deaths In Doctor Who History

16. Death By Straw (Smith And Jones)

Anne Reid's Nurse Crane had a memorable death during her first Doctor Who appearance in 1988's The Curse of Fenric, when formerly-disabled charge Doctor Judson set a group of vampires on her. But when she came back in 2007 via Russell T Davies' Smith and Jones, she went decidedly on the offensive. Seemingly a harmless patient at a hospital transported to the Moon, dotty old Florence was actually a Plasmavore, roaming the wards and draining consultants. Her weapon of choice? A drinking straw! Guest star Roy Marsden checked out prematurely as the blatantly-named Mr Stoker who became a rich source of food thanks to his privatized diet of liquid lunches and expensive dinners. Held in position by Reid's lethal couriers, he wound up on the carpet, drier than a Ryvita dropped in the Sahara Desert.
